MLH Hack Days 2026
Leading Hack Days by Atria Summer of Code, an official MLH Hack Day that brought 80+ student developers together for workshops, builds, and project showcases.
Three months before the event, I hit send on an application to host an MLH Hack Day and assumed nothing would come of it. The approval landed the next day, and from then on my calendar belonged to the hackathon: sponsor calls, late nights, volunteer lists, and a website that kept needing just one more fix.
Watching it come together in a single room with eighty-plus students made every exhausted week worth it. They built, they attended workshops, they looked at AI, and when the projects came up on stage you could see how much the day had meant to them. None of it would have worked without the partners, from Major League Hacking approving it to Render's credits keeping projects live, or the volunteers who stayed until the hall was empty.
People keep asking if I would do it again, and the answer is an easy yes. Hack Days was never really about the event itself; it was about proving that one idea, held long enough, can become a room full of people building.
